Jal-Jan Abhiyan

Jointly implemented by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Brahma Kumaris organization, the campaign aims to reach at least 10 million people and organize 10,000 programs. These activities will be carried out across the country, and they will be targeted towards a wide range of stakeholders, including students, teachers, farmers, government officials, and the general public.

Key objectives

Volunteers will be mobilized to participate in this initiative, and they will be responsible for building new water bodies and preserving more than 5,000 existing ones. The Brahma Kumaris organization is an important partner in this initiative. Founded by Lekhraj Kriplani, also known as Om Baba, the organization had its origins in present-day Pakistan’s Sindh Province. It is currently headquartered in Mount Abu in Rajasthan, and it is involved in a wide range of social and environmental initiatives. The organization has a large network of volunteers who are actively involved in promoting various causes, including water conservation.
