‘JSA II: Catch the Rain Awareness Generation Campaign’
Jal Shakti Minister and the Youth Affairs & Sports and Minister have launched the JSA II: Catch the Rain Awareness Generation Campaign. The campaign has been launched by the National Water Mission (NWM) in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS).

- The main aim of the campaign is to create awareness for water conservation and rainwater harvesting.
- For the JSA-II preparatory phase, the ministry has involved Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan for covering 623 districts under the ‘Catch the Rain’ awareness campaign.
- The awareness generation phase of the campaign will run till March 2021 from mid-December 2020.
- NYKS will undertake this awareness campaign via various IEC activities like mass awareness campaigns, conducting education & motivational programs, theme-based nukkadnataks& skits, wall writing, banners, knowledge competitions, branding of a campaign by logos, and printed IEC materials, etc.
- National Water Mission has launched a campaign Catch the rain to push the states for creating appropriate Rain Water Harvesting Structures (RWHS). The tag line of the campaign is “catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls”.
National Water Mission (NWM)
National Water Mission is under the Ministry of Water Resources and is a mission launched under the National Action Plan for Climate Change (NAPCC). The mission was launched with an aim of water conservation, ensuring equal distribution of water across the country and within States, and for minimizing wastage.
NAPCC was launched in the year 2009.
