Maha Awas Yojana

The Maha Awas Yojana is a new Rural Housing Project launched by the state government of Maharashtra. The scheme aims to construct 8.82 lakh houses and would be completed in a period of 100 days. The houses would include toilets and other amenities.

Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY)

PMAY is a mission of the government of India to provide affordable housing to the people.  It has been announced with an aim of “Housing for All”.  PMAY Urban Mission for urban area is being implemented from 2015-2022 with an aim to provide assistance to agencies through States and UTs for providing houses to all eligible families by the year 2022. It is a centrally sponsored scheme. Under the mission, houses of up to 30 square meter carpet area are being constructed.

Credit linked subsidy is also provided on home loans taken by eligible urban poor for the construction or acquisition of houses.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin aims to provide pucca houses to all the houseless by the year 2022. It is being implemented by the Rural Development Ministry. There is an aim to construct 2.95 crores houses by 2022.

Maharashtra State Government Latest

Maharashtra government will provide stipend to the candidates preparing for UPSC exams. Stipend will be given to the candidates who will appear for the Civil Services main exam and interview. Under the new scheme, candidates will be provided with Rs 12,000 stipend per month.  In addition to this, Rs 26,000 will be provided to the candidates for purchasing books.

Lonar Lake in Maharashtra has been named as the wetlands of international importance by India. Agra's Sur Sarovar has also been included in the list.
