Maharashtra Launches Scheme to Help Startups File IT Patents
Recently, the Maharashtra Government has launched a scheme to provide financial aid to startups for filing IT patents. This scheme has been launched to give a boost to the startup ecosystem in the state.

- Under the scheme, approximately 125-150 startups will be provided financial support in the first phase.

- Along with this, financial support up to Rs 2 lakh will be provided for certification for the startup’s ideas and quality testing.

- It has also been proposed to set up an international standard Center for Skill Development in Mumbai.

Recently, NITI Aayog released the second edition of the India Innovation Index. Karnataka topped this index and Maharashtra was ranked second. Bihar was last on the index. The first edition of the index was released in 2019.
