Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam scheme
Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam scheme was launched by the Tamil Nadu government to make preliminary healthcare more accessible for people. With this scheme, the state government seeks to reach out one crore people from 30 lakh families. The outlay is Rs.258 crore.
The scheme will deliver preliminary healthcare to the doorstep of the people. It will detect non-communicable diseases that may cause mortalities and adversely affect peoples quality of life. Women public health workers, women health volunteers, physiotherapists and nurses will be roped in for the implementation of this scheme.
