Minister Launches Agriculture Apps for Farmers’ Welfare

The Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister has recently launched two mobile applications aimed at revolutionizing the farming sector. These applications, designed to bring farming techniques and resources into the digital age, offer farmers a multitude of services from machinery rental to geo-tagging crops. The apps are designed with the specific goal of making high value and technical agricultural equipment more accessible to farmers, especially those on the smaller scale who may not have been able to afford such resources until now.

CHC Farm Machinery Application: Revolutionizing Agricultural Machinery Rental

One of the introduced mobile applications is the CHC Farm Machinery app. This multi-lingual application allows farmers to browse, select, and order required machinery from Custom Hiring Centres located within a radius of 50 kms. The platform provides farmers with the freedom to choose machinery that best fits their budget. The app is already accessible to custom service providers for registration and uploading with geo-reference, photographs of agricultural machinery, and details about service centers and available machinery.

These Custom Hiring Centres have been established under various schemes like Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana etc. The primary goal of these centres is to provide Agricultural machinery on a rental basis to farmers, focusing in particular on small & marginal farmers who can’t afford the high-value machinery & equipments.

Objective of the CHC Farm Machinery Application

The main objective behind the launch of this app is to provide easy access to high-value and technologically advanced agricultural equipment to farmers. By doing this, it is expected to boost the income of farmers and facilitate mechanization of maximum farm holdings in a minimal time frame.
