This initiative signifies a comprehensive approach to overcome the obstacles confronted by beekeepers. The underlying design reduces labour and cost involved in the upkeep of Bee Boxes and live bee colonies on a nationwide scale.
Understanding Apiary on Wheels
A unique concept, Apiary on Wheels is essentially a platform which can comfortably transport 20 Bee Boxes from one location to another. It has been designed for easy attachment to a tractor or a trolley, enabling effortless relocation to any desired destination. This innovative solution minimizes the logistical complexity involved in the maintenance and transit of live bee colonies.
The Launch of Honey Mission: An Overview
The KVIC initiated the Honey Mission in 2017, aiming to boost local economies and promote self-employment among rural, educated yet unemployed youth. The project involves distribution of Bee Boxes and training in beekeeping activities. By bringing these activities directly to their doorstep, the KVIC aids these individuals in generating additional income through beekeeping.
