Pilot Pey Jal Survekshan has been launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under Jal Jeevan Mission- Urban, JJM-U.

- Pilot Pey Jal Survekshan will be conducted in cities to ascertain the equitable distribution of water, mapping of water bodies with respect to quantity and quality of water, and reuse of wastewater.
- This was informed by Durga Shanker Mishra, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Affairs.
- In the initial stage, the Survekshan will be launched by the ministry in 10 cities- Badlapur, Agra, Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Churu, Patiala, Madurai, Surat, Rohtak, and Tumkur.
- The Survekshan will be done through a technology-based platform that will monitor the response of the beneficiary along with progress and output-outcome.
Jal Jeevan Mission Urban
Jal Jeevan Mission Urban has been designed to provide universal coverage of water supply to all households. Under the mission, water supply will be made available through functional taps in all 4,378 statutory towns in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal – 6. The total outlay proposed for JJM (U) is Rs 2 lakh 87 thousand crores. This amount includes Rs 10,000 crore for continuing financial support to AMRUT Mission.
AMRUT Mission
AMRUT i.e. Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation is a mission that focuses on establishing infrastructure ensuring adequate water supply and robust sewage networks for urban transformation. It was launched in the year 2015 and Rajasthan was the first state to submit the action plan under the mission.
