mPassport Police App

The Indian Government has launched a new app called mPassport Police App to speed up the process of police verification for passport issuance. The app will make the process of police verification paperless, thereby reducing the verification time by five days.

Details of the mPassport Police App

The mPassport Police App was introduced by the Indian Government’s External Affairs Ministry. The app will allow police personnel to submit digital and paperless verification reports via mobile tablets, simplifying and hastening the process of police verification for passport issuance. Earlier, the police verification process took around 15 days to complete, but with the new app, the process is expected to take only ten days.

The app is currently available for use in the jurisdiction of Delhi Police. The police personnel in Delhi can download the app on their mobiles and submit the verification reports through it. The app will allow the police to submit the report digitally, making the process faster and more efficient. The app will also help in reducing the burden on the police, as they will not have to carry out physical verifications.

The benefits of the mPassport Police App

The mPassport Police App has several benefits for both the police and the passport applicants. It will significantly reduce the time required for police verification, which was a major bottleneck in the passport issuance process. With the new app, the process of verification will become faster, more efficient, and less time-consuming.

The app will also help in reducing the burden on the police personnel, who will no longer have to carry out physical verifications. The digital verification process will be less cumbersome for them, allowing them to complete the process faster and more efficiently.

The app will also be beneficial for passport applicants, as they will no longer have to wait for a long time to get their passport. With the new app, they can expect to get their passport in a shorter duration. The reduction in the time required for police verification will also help in reducing the overall time required for passport issuance.
