The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (Amendment) Bill, 2021 amends the 2020 Act that replaced the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970. The 2020 Act replace the council with a National Commission with similar functions.
On June 11 this year, the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine was set up and the 1970 Act was repealed. The National Commission supersedes the Central Council. The 2021 amendment Bill specifies the powers and functions of the Board of Governors.
