National Logistics Policy
The national logistics policy, which was proposed by the commerce ministry, seeks to boost productivity and competitiveness of manufacturers by reducing the cost of logistics. The policy propositions include development of national and state-level plans for multi-modal connectivity, formulation of an umbrella national logistics law, IT application development for tracking and tracing trucks etc. This proposal comes amid the high logistics cost adversely affecting competitiveness of the domestic goods in the international market.
