National Organ Transplant Programme

The National Organ Transplant Programme (NOTP) is a government initiative that seeks to promote organ donation and transplantation across the country. Under this programme, state organ and tissue transplant organisations (SOTTOs) are set up in each states and UTs. It also provides financial aid for establishing new organ transplant/retrieval facilities and strengthening existing organ transplant/retrieval facilities.
Under this NOTP, a National Level Tissue Bank (Biomaterial Centre) was set up at the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) in New Delhi. In addition, a new provision has been added to the NOTP for providing financial aid to states for setting up a Biomaterial centre.
