National Pharmacy Education Day

The National Pharmacy Education Day is celebrated in India every year on March 6th, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff, a pioneer in pharmacy education in the country. This day is marked by various activities and initiatives by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), which is responsible for regulating pharmacy education and practice in the country.

Launch of two new platforms

This year, the day was celebrated with the launch of two new platforms – Pharma Anveshan 2023 and One Stop-Non Stop. The Union Minister of State (HFW), Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, inaugurated these platforms and highlighted their importance in promoting research and employment in the pharmaceutical sector.

Pharma Anveshan 2023

Pharma Anveshan 2023 is a platform that aims to promote collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors in the field of pharmaceutical research. It provides a common platform for researchers to share their findings and collaborate on projects, with the ultimate goal of benefiting society. The platform is expected to accelerate research and development in the pharmaceutical sector, which is crucial for the country’s healthcare system.

National Pharmacy Education Day

The second platform launched on National Pharmacy Education Day is the One Stop-Non Stop digital job portal. This portal aims to provide a one-stop solution for job seekers and employers in the pharmaceutical sector. It is designed to simplify the job search process and provide opportunities for both freshers and experienced professionals. The portal will also enable employers to access a large pool of candidates, making the recruitment process more efficient.

The launch of these platforms is a significant step towards promoting the growth of the pharmaceutical industry in India. The sector is expected to play a crucial role in the country’s economic development, and initiatives like Pharma Anveshan 2023 and One Stop-Non Stop are expected to contribute to this growth. The celebrations were not limited to the PCI alone. Various pharmacy colleges and institutions across the country also organized events to mark the day. These included seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns on the importance of pharmacy education and the role of pharmacists in the healthcare system.
