National Rail and Transportation Institute Launched Seven Academic Programs

National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), Vadodra has launched seven new programmes on November 12, 2020. The courses comprise of two BTech UG programmes, two MBA and three MSc programmes on core applied sector.

Highlights

  • The two BTech programmes focuses on Rail Infrastructure, Rail Systems and Communications Engineering.
  • The MBA programmes focuses at Transportation and Supply Chain Management. These are the sectors of highest priority in the upcoming years.
  • The MSc programmes focuses on the Systems Engineering & Integration, Systems & Analytics, Policy & Economics. These areas are among the core areas that the nation is looking forward to. The MSc programme on Systems Engineering and Integration will be provided in association with the University of Birmingham, UK.

Nature of the Programmes

These programmes are interdisciplinary and application-oriented. These programmes are not being offered by any other institute in India.  So, these programmes have unique contents.

National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI)

The National Rail and Transportation Institute is India’s first and only transportation university. The university has been located in Vadodara, Gujarat.  It is located under the campus of Ministry of Railways’s apex training institution, called the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR)  NRTI has adopted an interdisciplinary approach for doing research of the transport systems. The institute brings together the academicians, scientists and engineers from various backgrounds. It also plans to leverage its academic and industry partnerships and collaborations. The institute tries to develop a set of core values that are dedication to nation-building, commitment to innovation and academic excellence. It also tries to develop compassion towards people, society and responsibility towards the environment.
