Netaji’s Birthday Declared as ‘Parakram Diwas’
Every year, January 23 will be celebrated as “Parakram Diwas”. This announcement was recently made by the Union Ministry of Culture.
- January 23 is the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
- India will be celebrating the 125th birth anniversary year of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on January 23, 2021.
- Now, in order to honor the contributions and selfless service of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, every year January 23 will be observed as Parakram Diwas.
- The Ministry released an official notification for this and also highlighted that the celebration of the 125th birth anniversary will be done at both national and international levels.
Panel for 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose
An 85-member panel has also been set up under the chairmanship of PM Modi to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The committee will guide on the commemoration activities in Kolkata, Delhi, and other states and places linked with Azad Hind Fauj and Netaji. The committee will cover places both in India and abroad.
Azad Hind Fauj
It was an armed force formed during World War II by Imperial Japan and Indian nationalists in the year 1942. The force collapsed due to differences in December 2020 and was revived in the year 1943 under the leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
