In a recent development, the Quality Council of India (QCI) in collaboration with the Government of Odisha launched the Odisha Gunvatta Sankalp (Odisha Quality Mission) in the city of Bhubaneswar. The mission recognizes that quality plays a vital role in enhancing competitiveness, driving innovation, and ensuring sustainable growth in industries.

  • Collaborative Effort: The Government of Odisha, in partnership with the Quality Council of India and industry associations such as ASSOCHAM, FICCI, EEPC, OASME, PHDCCI, CIPET, and FHRAI, launched the Odisha Gunvatta Sankalp in Bhubaneswar. This collaboration reflects a collective effort to prioritize and promote quality for the overall development of the state.

About Quality Council of India (QCI)

  • The Quality Council of India, established in 1997 by the Government of India and the Indian industry, serves as the apex organization responsible for establishing and operating the third-party national accreditation system. It plays a crucial role in improving quality across sectors through its various constituent Boards.
  • QCI’s constituent Boards provide accreditation in specific areas such as the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for labs, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) for hospitals, the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) for certification and inspection bodies, and the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET).
  • The Chairperson of QCI, Shri Jaxay Shah, nominated by the Prime Minister of India, leads the organization. He brings valuable insights and experience from his role as the CMD of Savvy Group of Companies.
