Panchmuli Lake

The Panchmuli Lake is a lake near the 182-m tall “Statue of Unity” in Gujarat. Also known as Dyke-3, it was developed for tourists with the help of the Sardar Sarovar Dam. In 2019, the Gujarat State Forest Development Corporation Limited (GSFDC) launched the boat ride for tourists on this lake, which is surrounded by wilderness rich in flora and fauna.

More than 190 crocodiles were relocated over the past two years for ensuring the safety of the tourists visiting the lake. They were shifted to two rescue centres in Gandhinagar and Godhra. Despite these efforts, there are still more crocodiles remaining in this lake.
