PM Honors Swami Vivekananda on Death Anniversary

The Indian Prime Minister recently paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary, commending his remarkable principles that continue to inspire a strong India. Swami Vivekananda, who passed away on July 4, 1902, was a Hindu monk, philosopher, author, and reformer who introduced Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world, promoting ideals of service, humanity, and spiritual enlightenment.

The Legacy of Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda was not only the chief disciple of Ramakrishna, a mystic who taught him the unity of all religions, but he also established the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. This organization seeks to advance both spiritual and social service, enriching countless lives through its teachings, speeches, and writings. His death anniversary serves as a reminder of his invaluable contributions towards the enlightenment of humanity and the promotion of unity among religions.

Intricate Dynamics of Flames

A recent scientific exploration has led to a better understanding of air flow near a flame. Flames generate heat, causing the surrounding air to rise due to reduced density. This action results in a low-pressure area around the flame, leading cooler air from the sides and beneath to flow towards the flame. The presence of oxygen maintains the fuel’s combustion. The hot air near the flame then rises quickly, producing a faster outflow of hot air above the flame, with a slower inflow from the sides and underneath.

Robust Growth for India’s Firms

In a report by S&P Global Ratings, the credit standing of companies in India appears promising, underpinned by robust underlying growth and favorable balance sheets. The findings reveal strong economic growth predictions for the country, anticipated to reach 6% in 2023 and 6.9% in 2024, the highest in the region. The presence of robust onshore liquidity aids in countering challenges from tougher external-funding conditions.

Debt Reduction among Indian Firms

India’s companies are persistently working towards decreasing their debts. However, the pace of debt reduction or deleveraging might slow down due to an increase in capital expenditure. Deleveraging is a practice aimed at reducing or eliminating debt to enhance the financial stability of a company or economy.

Mo Jungle Jami Yojana Scheme by Odisha Government

The Odisha government has recently introduced the Mo Jungle Jami Yojana scheme, targeted at strengthening forest rights among tribals and forest dwellers across the state. Implementation of this scheme will set Odisha as the first state in India to recognize community forest rights in addition to individual rights granted by the central government. This scheme aims to ensure livelihood and food security for the Scheduled Tribe and forest dwelling population by conferring land ownership and access to forest resources according to their entitlements.

Odisha, which houses 62 different tribes including 13 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), plans to benefit a significant number of villages and Scheduled Tribe families through this scheme. These tribal groups make up about 22.85% of the state’s total population.
