Rajasthan Tourism Trade (Facilitation and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2021

The Rajasthan Tourism Trade (Facilitation and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2021 amends the 2010 Act to make misbehavior with tourists a cognizable offence. It identifies certain activities in tourist places to be cognizable offence. These include touting, begging, hawking articles for sale in or around tourist places.
Tourism sector is a major income provider for the state of Rajasthan. It brought in 5.2 crore domestic and 16 lakh foreign tourists in 2019. However, popular tourist destinations in the state are plagued for the persistence of touts that often mislead and force tourists to shop at an exorbitant price. The Bill’s main purpose it to address this issue.
