Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians
The Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians is a prize that is awarded each year to young mathematicians less than 45 years of age for conducting outstanding mathematical research in a developing country. It is funded by the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and the International Mathematical Union. This year, it was given to Dr Carolina Araujo, a mathematician from the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics, Rio de Janeiro.
