Scorpius is the name of an electronic warfare system which has been developed by the country of Israel. It is the world’s first electronic warfare system that is able to attack multiple threats at the same time.
Technical Details
This newly developed system is based on the technology which is known as Active Electronically Scanned Array. One can scan the surroundings at a 360-degree angle simultaneously to find targets. It can attack missiles, ships, radars, UAVs, communication channels, and more. It can also effectively interfere with the workings of the electromagnetic systems. This includes radar, electronic sensors, navigation as well as data transmission.
Domains of the system
The system named Scorpius can be used in several areas, including ground, sea, air, and training. Scorpius-G is a ground-based system that can be quickly deployed from the vehicle. It creates an electronic protection dome in a large area that neutralizes modern threats. Scorpio-N is a Navy-based system used to protect ships. These include unmanned combat aircraft, anti-ship cruise missiles on the horizon, and threats from radar. Scorpio SP is an aerial self-defence capsule designed to interrupt enemy ground-based electromagnetic manipulation. Scorpio-T is used for training. It was first exhibited in the year 2021 at the International Air Force Exercise Blue Flag.
