Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (SSB) Awards

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has unveiled the list of winners for the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (SSB) awards for 2022. Named after CSIR’s founder, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar, this prestigious award honors exceptional contributions to science and technology. Each recipient is granted a cash prize of INR 5,00,000 and is recognized for remarkable research in various fields, including Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. Eligibility extends to Indian citizens up to the age of 45, including Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) working in India. The awardees’ names are publicly disclosed on CSIR’s Foundation Day, September 26.
