Exercise Surya Kiran

Exercise Surya Kiran is the joint military exercise between Indian and Nepalese Armies. During this exercise, the Indian Army’s Infantry Battalion and an equivalent strength from Nepal Army will share their best practices used during the counter-insurgency operations.
The 15th edition of the bilateral exercise commenced on September 20 this year in Uttarakhand. During the drills, the armies will familiarize themselves with each other’s weapons, equipment, tactics, techniques and procedures for countering insurgent activities in mountainous terrain. Academic discussions will also be held on various topics like humanitarian assistance, disaster response, high altitude warfare, jungle warfare etc.
