Significant Improvement in LAC Infrastructure: India’s Army Chief

India’s Infrastructure Development Along the Line of Actual Control

According to the Army Chief General of India, the country has seen significant advances in the infrastructure near the Line of Actual Control (LAC). This has included the construction of 6,000 km of border roads and enhanced all-weather connectivity in regions such as Ladakh and Kameng.

Key Developments in LAC Infrastructure

The army has worked diligently to extend the country’s infrastructure on India’s side of the LAC with China. Notable projects underway include the Zojila tunnel and the Z-Morh tunnel in Ladakh and the Sela tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh. The continued development is part of a broad strategy encompassing five key areas: restructuring and optimization, modernization and technology infusion, human resource management (such as the Agnipath scheme), jointness and integration, and refining and improving systems and processes.

Alongside these developments, the Army is looking to incorporate female officers into the Regiment of Artillery, marking the potential entrance of women into combat arms.

NOTAM Causes Flight Groundings

In aviation news, a significant glitch in the computer system resulted in the grounding of thousands of flights in the US. The disruption was due to a failure in a critical pilot notification system known as Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM).

In India, NOTAMs or Notices to Airmen are essential telecommunications notices. They provide information about the establishment, condition, or change in any aeronautical facility, service, procedure, or hazard, and timely knowledge of such is crucial for flight operations personnel.
