Smog tower
India?s first-ever smog tower was set up in Delhi ahead of the smog season to combat air pollution. The fans and the filters inside the tower are imported from the United States.
The smog tower sucks polluted air in at a height of 24 meter and releases filtered air at the bottom of the tower, at the height of about 10 meter from the ground. The ?downdraft air cleaning system? used by this technology is different from the one used in China, which uses an undraft system ? the air is sucked in from near the ground and is propelled to the top of the tower to be released.
