State Disaster Response Fund

The State Disaster Response Fund under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 is the fund used by the states to respond to the notified disasters. The contribution of the Central Government is released in two instalments according to the Finance Commission’s recommendations. This year’s first instalment was released by the Centre in advance to all states. It is usually released in June. Up to half of this fund can be used by the states for COVID-19 response.
