TechSagar Portal Launched to Boost India’s Cyber Security

The National Cyber Security Coordinator’s office, in collaboration with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), has initiated ‘TechSagar’, a comprehensive online platform mapping India’s technological abilities. Its primary function is to provide valuable insights into the capabilities of Indian academia, industry, and research across 25 diverse technology disciplines, including Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The portal currently hosts profiles of more than 4,000 entities that demonstrate India’s technological prowess.

TechSagar and its Significance

TechSagar serves as an up-to-date repository of information about key contributors to India’s tech landscape. It is regularly refreshed with data about new entities, maintaining its relevance and utility as the technology sphere evolves. This dynamic digital resource plays a crucial role in facilitating new opportunities for commerce and academia to connect, collaborate, and innovate for the future.

The Impact of Cyber Crime on Economic Growth

The global economy suffers an average loss of 2.5% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) due to cybercrime alone. This startling fact presents a considerable barrier to India’s goal of expanding to a $5 trillion economy by 2025. By providing an amalgamated view of India’s tech capacities, TechSagar aims to combat this economic threat posed by cybercrime, thus playing a pivotal role in stimulating growth and innovation.
