The Vadnagar Archaeological Experiential Museum opened , marking milestone in the preservation of India’s cultural heritage. The inauguration was officiated by Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, alongside Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Bhupendrabhai Patel, and Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan. This state-of-the-art facility is located in Vadnagar, a town with a history spanning over 2,500 years.

  • Permanent Structure – This structure provides a safe viewing area for archaeological remains, which extend up to 16-18 metres deep.

Investment and Sustainability

The project has an investment of Rs. 298 Crore, ensuring long-term sustainability. This includes funds for capital costs and five years of operations and maintenance. The museum’s design incorporates modern museology principles, making it a benchmark for future developments.

Exhibits and Visitor Experience

Visitors can explore thematic galleries showcasing items such as ceramics, coins, ornaments, and tools. The museum also features organic materials like food grains and skeletal remains. A unique walkway allows direct interaction with the archaeological site, enhancing the educational experience.
