West Bengal Inland Water Transport, Logistics and Spatial Development Project

The $105 million West Bengal Inland Water Transport, Logistics and Spatial Development Project seeks to improve inland water infrastructure in Kolkata. It intends to facilitate passenger and freight movement across the Hooghly river, undertake spatial planning to enhance accessibility in Kolkata Metropolitan area, boost logistics sector and improve residents’ quality of life. Agreement in this regard was inked by the Indian government, West Bengal government and the World Bank.
