World Malala Day

World Malala Day is observed on July 12 in honour of Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai, who was shot at by Taliban insurgents while on her way to school in 2012. This day, observed on Malala?s birthday, is recognised by the United Nations to urge the world leaders to ensure free and compulsory education to all.
On this occasion, Assam Rifles organised an awareness campaign for women and children in Jammu and Kashmir about their rights. The campaign highlighted various government schemes for empowering women. It talked about various job opportunities as well.
