World Physical Therapy Day is observed each year on September 8 to spread awareness about the importance of physiotherapists in ensuring the fitness and wellbeing of people. The day was created and promoted by the World Physiotherapy on September 8, 1996. It was founded in 1951.This year, the global awareness day focused on the role of physical therapists in the management and treatment of people suffering from the long-term implications of the COVID-19 infection.
Physical therapy is a non-invasive treatment that helps people maintain, develop and restore maximum mobility of the body and physical function. It is used for gaining flexibility, strength and minimizing chances of injuries.
