Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has launched ‘Xcelerator Bangalore’ (XB) for providing support to women entrepreneurs. It is a curated six-month accelerator programme, for supporting and scaling women-owned micro-businesses.

- In the State Budget, Rs 37,188 crore has been granted for women-centric programmes.
- Similarly, the government is also encouraging working women, small-scale/micro-entrepreneurs, employees, rural self-help groups, through various initiatives including the prominent Elevate Women programme.
- Xcelerator Bangalore is jointly organized by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), UBUNTU Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations, and Global Alliance For Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME).
- A panel discussion was also held after the launch of Xcelerator Bangalore. The discussion was done on strategies to reach and scale 50,000 women-led enterprises and celebration of entrepreneurial journeys.
Grant for every district
Highlighting the participation of women entrepreneurs in the UBUNTU consortium from 26 women’s associations, UBUNTU President, KSDA Chairperson, and former Chief Secretary Ratnaprabha, has requested the Chief Minister to set aside a fund of Rs 1 lakh each for every district to uplift women entrepreneurs in the state. She also pointed out the need for women entrepreneurs’ parks for every woman in all districts.
