24th Indo-US Joint Technical Group Meeting

The Defence Research and Development Organisation hosted the 24th Indo-US Joint Technical Group Plenary Meeting in New Delhi to advance cooperation in defence science and technology. The two-day meeting reviewed ongoing collaboration, identified challenges, and explored new proposals to strengthen ties in critical and emerging defence technologies. It also brought into light the need to expand participation from universities, defence laboratories, and industry in joint research and development.

The meeting was co-chaired by DRDO Director General of Production Coordination and Services Interaction Dr Chandrika Kaushik and Assistant Secretary of War for Critical Technologies Michael Francis Dodd. Senior officials, scientists, and technocrats from institutions under the US Department of War and the Department of State participated, along with DRDO representatives and officials from India’s Tri-Services, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of External Affairs, and the National Security Council Secretariat.

Importance for Defence Cooperation

The plenary meeting reflects the growing importance of technology-driven defence partnerships between India and the United States. Such engagements help identify areas for joint research, improve interoperability, and support innovation in strategic sectors.
