International Festival of Yoga and Meditation in Leh

The International Festival of Yoga and Meditation 2026 is being held across Ladakh from 15–21 June 2026 to mark the 12th United Nations International Day of Yoga.

  • Programme types: Yogathons, meditation sessions, youth outreach programmes and seminars.
  • Special sites: Sessions planned at Siachen Base Camp and Pangong Lake.
  • Iconic host: Leh Palace one of 12 selected Indian sites for synchronized IDY events under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”.

  • Organisers: National Institute of Sowa Rigpa (NISR), Leh and Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre collaborated on festival events.
  • Seminar: “Integration of Yoga for Public Health” held on 18 June 2026.
  • Expert inputs: Participation by institutions including the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga.
