From 12 July 2026 the Central Vista redevelopment area in New Delhi is officially referred to as the Kartavya Bhawan Complex (Kartavya Bhawan Area), covering existing government buildings, Kartavya Marg and future structures within the Central Vista zone.
Scope of the Renaming

- Area covered: Central Vista precinct including government office buildings, Kartavya Marg and planned additions within the redevelopment boundary.

- Common Central Secretariat: Projected cluster to house multiple Union ministries in a single administrative complex; planned composition of 10 buildings.
- Kartavya Bhawans: Three buildings completed and named Kartavya Bhawans; first inaugurated August 2025; complex expected fully ready by September 2026.

- Kartavya Path: Former Rajpath renamed Kartavya Path in September 2022; the ceremonial axis runs between Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate (~2 km).
