The West Bengal Legislative Assembly signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in June 2026 to implement the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA). It is the 33rd legislative body to adopt this platform, aiming to unify India’s digital governance framework. To date, 21 legislatures have achieved a completely paperless status.
Key Features of NeVA

- Institutional Structure: A Mission Mode Project under the Digital India Programme, overseen by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hosted on MeghRaj (NIC cloud), ensuring data security and disaster recovery. It is device-neutral, supporting both desktops and the mNeVA mobile app.

- Funding Model: A centrally sponsored scheme: 60:40 (Centre:State) for General States, 90:10 for North-Eastern/Hilly States, and 100% funding for Union Territories.
