On 22 July 2026 Anurag Jain was appointed Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog for a period of two years; the appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. He is a 1989‑batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre.
