Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company led by CEO Dario Amodei, is exploring a new funding round that could value it at more than $900 billion in April 2026. The company previously raised $30 billion in a Series G round in February 2026 at a $380 billion valuation.
Funding Round and Valuation
Discussions with investors remain in the early stage, and Anthropic has not accepted any formal offer as of late April 2026. A board decision on the investment round and valuation is expected in May 2026. If the round closes at the reported level, Anthropic would exceed OpenAI’s last reported valuation of $852 billion from March 2026.
Major Investors and Capital Commitments
Google parent Alphabet has committed up to $40 billion in Anthropic, with an initial $10 billion investment at a $350 billion valuation. The remaining $30 billion depends on specified milestones. Amazon has committed an initial $5 billion investment and plans to provide up to an additional $20 billion.
Private-Market Valuation and IPO Context
Reports from April 2026 placed Anthropic’s implied valuation at $1 trillion in on-chain private-market trading. Earlier proposals valued the company at $800 billion or more, and Anthropic had resisted such offers. A potential initial public offering may begin as early as October 2026.
Series G Funding
Series G is a late-stage private funding round used by high-growth companies before a public listing. Anthropic’s February 2026 Series G round remains one of the largest private AI fundraisings in 2026.
