AAHAR 2025 Food and Hospitality Fair

AAHAR 2025 Food and Hospitality Fair

India’s 40th AAHAR International Food and Hospitality Fair was inaugurated in New Delhi, bringing together stakeholders from the food processing, hospitality and export sectors. The event is jointly organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and the India Trade Promotion Organisation from 10 to 14 March. The fair is designed to promote business linkages, showcase products and explore export opportunities for Indian enterprises.

Key Features of the Fair

  • The fair is one of India’s major food and hospitality exhibitions.
  • Italy has been named the country partner for the first time.
  • The exhibition includes B2B engagements and will also be open to the public on 13 March evening and 14 March.

Trade and Export Significance

The event comes at a time when India is expanding its trade network through Free Trade Agreements. India has concluded nine FTAs in the last three and a half years, giving access to 38 developed and prosperous countries. The fair is expected to help Indian exporters, especially in agricultural, marine and processed food products, tap wider markets.

India’s Food Export Profile

  • India is currently the seventh largest exporter in the world.
  • Agricultural and marine exports are worth about five lakh crore rupees.
  • Major export items include rice, wheat, maize, soy meal and pulses.
  • Trade negotiations have protected sensitive farm commodities.

FTA Outlook and Investment Links

The fair also reflects India’s growing integration with global value chains. Preferential market access now covers nearly two-thirds of global trade, strengthening India’s appeal as an investment destination. Europe remains an important market for agricultural and processed food imports, with several Indian products benefiting from low or near-zero duties under new trade arrangements.
