Bonda tribe

Bonda tribe is one of the 75 primitive tribal groups to be identified by the Indian government. Their culture has remained unchanged for more than thousand years. This community is settled in the remote hill regions of Malkangiri district in southwestern Odisha, near the state’s borders with Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. The Bonda hamlets are currently under lockdown because of the surging COVID-19 cases, leading to the community facing economic losses.
