Chernobyl disaster

The Chernobyl disaster is a nuclear disaster that occurred in 1986 in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the northern Ukraine. It is the worst nuclear disaster in terms of causality and cost. This year’s April 26 will mark the 35th anniversary of the disaster. It came as the result of insufficient training and flawed design of the reactor. It led to thousands of deaths due to radiation-related health issues.
