CMS-01 is a communication satellite to be launched by ISRO on December 17th. It is to be launched aboard the PSLV C50 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Shriharikota (77th launch vehicle mission from SHAR). It is 42nd communication satellite from India. It is to provide communication services in the extended-C band of frequency spectrum. This covers not only the Indian mainland but also the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Lakshadweep Islands.
