e-Prisons

The e-Prisons integrates all activities related to prison and prisoner management. It provides information about the inmates of the prison in real-time to courts, prison officials and other entities involved in Criminal Justice System. It can be used for requesting prison visits and grievance redressal.
e-Prisons has been operationalised in all states and union territories. The Ministry of Home Affairs has provided the financial aid of Rs.99.49 crores for this purpose. Some of the key features of this initiative are National Prisons Information Portal, Kara Bazaar (e-commerce portal showcasing products manufactured by inmates), improved tracking of inmates? movements etc.
