Enhanced Pinaka Rocket
Enhanced Pinaka Rocket, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), was tested from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) off the coast of Odisha. The enhanced range version can destroy targets at a maximum distance of 45 km.
The development of Pinaka multi-barrel rocket system was initiated in the late 1980s to create a substitute to the Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher Systems made by Russia called Grad. The earliest version of these rockets – Pinaka Mark-1 – was successfully tested in the late 1990 and was used during the 1999 Kargil Conflict.
