Eubrontes nobitai is a new species of dinosaur that was discovered in China in 2020. It is named after ?Nobita? ? a fictional character from the popular Japanese cartoon and animation Doraemon, which increased the popularity of dinosaurs amongst children.
The footprint fossil of Eubrontes nobitai was found in July last year in China?s southwestern province of Sichuan. The distance between the dinosaur?s four footprints is approximately 50 centimetres. The length of the sole is around 30 cm and the body length is estimated to be around 4 metres. It is believed to be closely related to Eubrontes ? a carnivore dinosaur that roamed the Earth during the Cretaceous period.
