Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojna

Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojna is a health insurance scheme launched by the Odisha government. Operational since June 1, 2018, it provides insurance cover of Rs.2 lakh per annum to journalists. In addition to this scheme, the Odisha government had recently announced an ex-gratia of Rs.15,00,000 to the next of kin of a journalist who lost his/her life due to COVID-19 infection. Journalists were also designated as “Frontline COVID-19 Warriors”.
