Guidelines for Institutional Development Plan (IDP) for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)

Recently, the University Grants Commission (UGC) approved the Guidelines for Institutional Development Plan (IDP) for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). These guidelines are designed to elevate the quality of teaching and learning, foster academic and research excellence, and promote administrative and financial autonomy with accountability. Additionally, the IDP will align with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), which emphasizes the development of well-rounded individuals with ethical values and 21st-century skills.

NEP 2020 envisions the holistic development of students, emphasizing character development, ethical values, and 21st-century skills. The policy encourages HEIs to offer specialized programs while ensuring a well-rounded education.
