The Ministry of Textiles launched “Handloom Hackathon 2026 – Weaving Innovation” on 8 July 2026. Online registrations are open until 20 July 2026 at www.youthideathon.in/handloom; the Grand Finale is on 1 August 2026 at FITT, IIT Delhi.

Eligibility and Process
- Participants: Students, weavers, artisans, researchers, startups, entrepreneurs, and professionals from textiles, design, engineering, management and technology.
- Selection: Shortlisted teams present solutions to a jury at the Grand Finale.
- Post-selection: Selected ideas may receive mentoring, incubation and development support with partner institutions.

- Core themes: Product and design innovation, sustainability, digital technologies, market access, supply chain efficiency, business development and social impact.
- New emphasis 2026: Weaver livelihoods and financial inclusion.
