A Landmark Employment Decision

In a recent high-profile case, the Supreme Court resolved a longstanding injustice in public employment. Invoking its authority under Article 142 of the Constitution, the Court ruled that a public employer falling under the ‘state’ category as designated by Article 12 of the Constitution cannot dismiss a candidate without a valid cause. This landmark ruling emphasizes the importance of clear eligibility criteria at the onset of a selection process and reasserts the principle against discrimination in public employment.
