International Fund for Agricultural Development

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized agency of the United Nations mandated to work towards the eradication of poverty and hunger in rural areas of the developing countries. The international financial institution is the sole multilateral development organization focusing exclusively on rural economies and food security.
Headquartered in Rome, Italy, the IFAD is implementing some 200 project in nearly 100 countries. The projects focus on improving land and water management, rural infrastructure development, training and education of farmers, technological growth of rural areas, climate resilient initiatives, improving market accessibility etc.
